英语小故事《狼来了》The Boy Who Cried Wolf

从前，在一个宁静的小山村里，住着一个放羊娃。每天，他都要把羊群赶到山坡上吃草。
Once upon a time, in a tranquil small mountain village, there lived a shepherd boy. Every day, he had to drive his flock of sheep to the hillside for grazing, and his days were uneventful and boring.

有一天，放羊娃突发奇想，觉得这样的生活太无趣了，想找点乐子。于是，他扯着嗓子大声喊：“狼来了！狼来了！大家快来救我啊！” 山脚下的村民们听到呼救声，急忙放下手中的活，拿着锄头、铁锹，喊着口号，匆匆忙忙地往山上跑。看到村民们气喘吁吁、惊慌失措的样子，放羊娃哈哈大笑起来：“根本没有狼，你们都上当啦！”村民们很生气，但也没办法，只能下山继续干活。
One day, the shepherd boy had a sudden whim. He thought his life was so dull and wanted to find some amusement. So, he yelled at the top of his voice, “The wolf is coming! The wolf is coming! Everyone, come and save me quickly!” The villagers at the foot of the mountain heard the cries for help. They hastily put down their work at hand, took up hoes and shovels, and rushed up the mountain, shouting slogans. Seeing the villagers panting and in a flurry, the shepherd boy burst into laughter. “There’s no wolf at all. You’ve all been tricked!” The villagers were very angry, but there was nothing they could do. They had to go down the mountain and resume their work.

过了几天，放羊娃又觉得无聊了，他故技重施，再次大声呼喊：“狼来了！狼来了！这次是真的！”善良的村民们还是相信了他，又一次冲上山坡。可放羊娃又一次欺骗了大家，村民们失望极了，纷纷指责他，然后离开了。
A few days later, the shepherd boy felt bored again. He repeated the same old trick and shouted once more, “The wolf is coming! The wolf is coming! This time it’s for real!” The kind villagers still believed him and rushed up the hillside once again. However, the shepherd boy deceived them once more. The villagers were extremely disappointed. They all reproached him and then left.

终于有一天，一只大灰狼真的来了，它张着血盆大口，直扑羊群。放羊娃吓得脸色苍白，拼命地大喊：“狼来了！狼来了！救命啊！” 可是，村民们以为他又在说谎，没有一个人来帮忙。最后，放羊娃的羊被狼吃掉了很多，他也为自己的谎言付出了惨痛的代价 。
Finally, one day, a big gray wolf actually came. It opened its huge mouth, which looked like a basin of blood, and pounced directly on the flock of sheep. The shepherd boy turned pale with fright and shouted desperately, “The wolf is coming! The wolf is coming! Help!” But the villagers thought he was lying again, and not a single one of them came to his aid. In the end, a great number of the shepherd boy’s sheep were eaten by the wolf, and he paid a heavy price for his lies.

这个故事告诉我们，做人一定要诚实，说谎只会失去别人的信任，最终害了自己。
This story tells us that we must be honest in life. Lying will only make us lose the trust of others, and eventually, it will harm ourselves.
